Shuang Wen is a PhD candidate in Transregional History at Georgetown University. In additional to coming to DC to pursue a doctoral degree, she also lived in Cairo, Damascus, Hong Kong and Beijing, studying different subjects that gratified her curiosity and worked as a broadcasting journalist. Her broad research interests include social and cultural history of Chinese-Arab interactions and Islam in China. Her dissertation deals specifically with the Chinese-Arab connections at the turn of the twentieth century.
