Brigadier General Md Nazrul Islam Sarker is Director of Research (Strategic and Defense Studies) at the Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS). He completed Master of Defence Studies (MDS) from National University, Bangladesh, Master of War Studies (MWS) from Bangladesh University of Professionals, Master of Business Administration (MBA) from AIUMT, USA. Graduate of Armed Forces War Course (afwc) from National Defence College, Mirpur, Bangladesh and Graduate of Army Staff Course (psc) from Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, Bangladesh. He also attended the Advanced Information Technology Course at the Royal Signal School, Blandford, United Kingdom. He has more than six years of instructional experience. Brigadier Sarker served as a UN Peace Keeper for one year in Former Yugoslavia and one year in Sierra Leone. He has visited many countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and Middle East. His research fields include Strategic Studies, Defence Studies, Peace Keeping and Information Technologies.
