Hirotake Ishiguro earned his Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies at Kobe University in Japan, where he specialized in Comparative Politics and International Relations with focus on the Islamic world. He has held posts as a Lecturer at both Kobe University and Osaka International University. He has served as a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and as an Affiliated Research Fellow of the Middle East Research Institute of Japan and of the JIME Centre, the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan.
