Guy Burton joined the University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus (UNMC) in September 2013, following a teaching post at the University of Kurdistan-Hewler in northern Iraq (2012-13). Prior to that he was Acting Director and Research Fellow at the Centre for Development Studies in Birzeit University in occupied Palestine (2010-12). He completed his PhD in Government at the London School of Economics in 2009. Before taking up postgraduate study he worked in politics in Britain, at both the parliamentary and local government levels and also as a lobbyist. At UNMC he taught courses on Global Political Economy and International Development, International Organisations and the Politics and International Relations of the Middle East.
