Eliane Coates is a Senior Analyst at the Centre of Excellence for National Security, a constituent unit of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She holds a Masters of International Security and Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Relations from the University of Sydney. Her research interests include inter-religious violence in Myanmar, Southeast Asia conflict and security, state-building and fragile states, terrorism and political Islam. Eliane has lectured on Myanmar inter-religious violence at the National University of Singapore. She comments regularly on inter-religious violence in Myanmar for Singapore and international media outlets. She speaks fluent Italian and conversational Indonesian.
