The Middle East Institute has announced its donation of 25,000 copies of The Middle East Journal to World Bank Family Network Book Project. The donation contains copies of The Middle East Journal dating from 1992 to 2004. MEI’s quarterly periodical has covered historical, political, and cultural developments in the countries of the Middle East for more than 60 years.

The World Bank Family Network Book Project is a nonprofit organization that collects donated books and sends them to educational institutions in developing countries around the world. Copies of The Middle East Journal will be distributed to various countries in the coming months, including schools in Afghanistan, Iraq, Morocco, Pakistan and Cameroon.

“The Middle East Journal is one of the leading periodicals covering the Middle East today,” said Dr. Michael C. Dunn, the editor of MEJ. “With this donation, we hope to give students in developing countries access to knowledge of the Middle East, which they might not have an opportunity to do so themselves. We are delighted and honored to be able to support the mission of the World Bank Family Network Book Project.”
