What did you like most about interning at MEI?
During my internship in the publications department I especially enjoyed the opportunity to thoroughly research current events. It was a great way for me to learn more about the issues and trends in the Middle East today. The department also offered a fascinating look into the publication process for a scholarly journal.
What are you doing now?
After completing my internship at MEI, I began work at the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) in Washington, DC, as a Program Associate. I work on teacher exchange programs which bring international secondary school teachers, including many from the Middle East, to universities and high schools in the US for short-term professional development programs and send American teachers abroad. I also work on an exchange program between Iranian and American health care specialists.
