
Middle East Institute & American-Tunisian Association are honored to co-host Oussama Romdhani is the general director of the Tunisian External Communication Agency, a cabinet-level position he has held since 1995. Previously, he served in Washington for about 15 years as a press counsellor at the Tunisian Embassy, bureau chief of the Tunisian News Agency and director of the Tunisian Information Office, and then as Deputy Ambassador. Even earlier, Mr Romdhani was a American Field Service exchange student in Erie, Pa, and a Fulbright Research Scholar at Georgetown University, after graduating from the University of Tunis with a major in American Studies. He has been a frequent guest lecturer at the American Foreign Service Institute and a recipient of its Distinguished Lecturer Award.
