Israel's Arab Minority: Options for Inclusion

Featuring:

Dr. Yitzhak Reiter

The predicament of the one million Arabs who possess Israeli citizenship has always been tenuous. Recent events including the demise of the Road Map, the new Palestinian leadership, and the release of the Or Comission Report threaten the relationship between Arabs in Israel and the Jewish majority. Dr. Yitzhak Reiter, Professor of Islamic and Middle Eastern History at the Truman Institute of Hebrew University and chair of the board of the Institute for Israeli Arab Studies at the Van Leer Institute, will explain the impact of recent events on the dynamic between Israeli Arabs and the State of Israel and propose steps Israel can take to accommodate its national minority.
