MEI is proud to join the Post-Classical Ensemble of Washington, DC, the Spanish Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and Georgetown University’s Woodstock Theological Center in presenting an evening of Christian- Judeo-Muslim music, poetry, and art at Georgetown University’s Gaston Hall.
“At a moment in history when we urgently need models of multicultural cooperation, this evening of music, visual art, dance, and the spoken word brings alive the magical confluence of three religiously inspired cultures – Christian, Judaic, and Muslim – in Renaissance Spain. Recreations of 15th Century church music and of Sephardic and Arabic song will be offered alongside 20th Century adaptations.”
