Harry Alverson is a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, based in Washington D.C., responsible for investor relations and fund formation in the Middle East and Europe. Prior to joining Carlyle in 1996, Mr. Alverson was with Bankers Trust Co. for 13 years, responsible for Middle East Corporate Finance. During this period, Mr. Alverson was based in Bahrain for four years. Subsequently he was with The Chase Manhattan Bank in the Asset Management Group.

Mr. Alverson is on the Board of Directors of the Arab Bankers Association of North America; and is a founding member of US Qatar Business Council and is involved with a number of other Middle East business groups. Mr. Alverson is a graduate of Skidmore College and has an MBA from The Wharton Graduate School at The University of Pennsylvania.
